Accelerated Nursing Programs in Michigan

Eastern Michigan’s second degree BSN can be completed in 16 months after acceptance. It is located at 1000 college pl. in Ypsilanti.

Grand Valley State University accelerated BSN is called the ASD (accelerated second degree) program. It takes only 12 months to complete! The deadline to submit your clinical nursing application is November 1. Minimum admission includes your BA from an accredited college or university, and an overall GPA of 3.0. The prerequisites are as follows:

You also need a personal statement, a list of service, leadership and work experiences.

Ferris State University accepts 24 students into its accelerated BSN program every summer semester, according to their website. The program is also one year long.

The accelerated BSN at Oakland University at Detroit is also a 12 month program. Their online program flyer says deadline application dates are April 15 for the fall semester, December 15 for the winter and April 15 for the summer for the school of nursing app.

The University of Michigan at Flint catalog program requirements for accelerated BSN states the program can be completed in 16 months. What is nice about this program is that it has only four prerequisites with a cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Keep in mind that all the programs listed above are for individuals that already have an unrelated bachelor degree from an accredited college or university. The entry into these accelerated programs is very competitive, and even more so since so many are out of work and want to get into this field.

You may want to consider other states and their colleges and universities. You will have to pay higher out of state tuition costs, but it may be worth it to you to get the ball rolling and get the program finished so you can put the degree to work and make some money.
