Accelerated Nursing Programs in Minnesota
Would it be worth it to go back to college if it meant not having to worry about getting a job afterwards in Minnesota? How long would it take and cost me to get some skills for a nursing job almost anywhere in the US?
You will be happy to know that you can use your unrelated bachelor degree to get into an accelerated bachelor of science degree (BSN) program in Minnesota and be completely done with it in a year or two after admittance.
Full time registered nurses are making a minimum of $62k per year right from graduation working full time. Many make much more than that, depending on the area of the country that they practice.
For a listing of the schools that offer the fast track BSN in Minnesota, look below:
Concordia College
Metropolitan State University
Minnesota State University Mankato
Saint Catherine University
Saint Cloud State University
The College of St. Scholastica
The Saint Cloud State University fast track BSN is a 16 month long program. The program begins in August and the deadline date for application is February 1. Graduation occurs in December. The applicant pool for placement goes by rank according to your GPA and references.
I found info on the Metropolitan State University website that showed an LPN to BSN nursing program and an RN to BSN program. I could not find into on an accelerated nursing program with an unrelated BA degree on their website.
It appears that The College of St. Scholastica offers an online RN to BSN degree. Guaranteed entry into the BSN includes two years of undergraduate work if you meet the plan criteria. I did not see an accelerated BSN on their site for an unrelated BA degree.
The Concordia University accelerated BSN in Minnesota can be completed in 3 semesters. You must meet the prerequisites, of course, before entry into the program. The list of prerequisites is fairly long. The chemistry, human anatomy, human physiology and microbiology courses good for transfer must have been completed in the last 5 years.
If you find that you will have to be on a waiting list for the accelerated BSN in Minnesota, then consider some of the other fast track nursing programs in Illinois, for instance. Accelerated nursing programs in New York holds a long list. You will find the programs listed right here on this site by state.
